Tired of Reading Glasses & Bi-Focals?

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is designed for people who want clearer vision across daily life reading, screens, driving, and everything in between without constantly switching glasses.

  • See at multiple distances (near, intermediate, and far)
  • Read up close (phones, menus, and small print)
  • Reduce dependence on glasses and contacts

You Can Transform Your Vision!

When is Refractive Lens Exchange appropriate?

A strong option for many adults 40+ who want freedom from readers.

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) also called Clear Lens Exchange (CLE) or Custom Lens Replacement (CLR) may be a great fit for adults who are starting to rely on reading glasses or bifocals, often between 40 and 65, and want a longer-term solution. It’s also commonly considered when laser vision correction isn’t ideal, or when a lens-based approach is preferred to help address vision at multiple distances.

The best next step is a Free consultation with a participating surgeon. They’ll evaluate your eyes, discuss your goals, and explain which lens options match your prescription (including options for astigmatism) so you can make a confident decision.

How It Works

During your consultation, you and your surgeon will select the lens technology that best fits your vision goals and eye anatomy. The RLE procedure typically takes about 10 minutes per eye, and in many cases both eyes are treated on the same day.

During the procedure, the surgeon removes the eye’s natural lens through a small incision and implants a new lens in the same location to improve vision.
